Editors’ Roles

Editorial Team Roles and Responsibilities

The editorial team of Mathematical Structures and Computational Modeling (MSCM) is responsible for maintaining the journal’s academic quality, editorial integrity, independence, and efficient management. The Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editors, Associate Editors, and Editorial Board Members work collectively to ensure fair and consistent manuscript assessment, appropriate peer review, confidentiality, conflict-of-interest management, and compliance with recognized research and publication-ethics standards. All editorial team members are expected to exercise independent professional judgment, treat authors and reviewers fairly, and protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief provides overall academic and editorial leadership for the journal and is responsible for its scholarly direction, policies, quality, and integrity. The Editor-in-Chief oversees editorial decision-making, assigns manuscripts to appropriate editors, and has final responsibility for decisions concerning acceptance, revision, rejection, correction, expression of concern, or retraction. The Editor-in-Chief also appoints and guides the editorial team, ensures fair and confidential peer review, manages significant ethical or editorial concerns, safeguards editorial independence, and supports the journal’s continued academic development.

Deputy Editors

Deputy Editors support the Editor-in-Chief in managing the journal and may oversee manuscripts within their areas of expertise. They assess submissions for relevance, originality, quality, and scholarly significance; support the selection and management of reviewers; monitor the progress of peer review; and provide informed recommendations on editorial decisions. They may also assist with complex review or ethical matters and contribute to initiatives that strengthen editorial quality, international visibility, special issues, and the journal’s scholarly development.

Associate Editors

Associate Editors manage assigned manuscripts within their subject expertise and oversee the peer-review process from initial assessment through editorial recommendation. They identify appropriate and independent reviewers, evaluate reviewer reports critically, and provide reasoned recommendations concerning revision, acceptance, or rejection. Associate Editors maintain confidentiality, disclose and manage conflicts of interest, remain attentive to research and publication-ethics concerns, and ensure that editorial decisions are consistent with the journal’s scope, policies, and academic standards.

Editorial Board Members

Editorial Board Members contribute subject-specific expertise to the journal’s academic development and credibility. They may advise on emerging research areas, editorial policies, and scholarly priorities; participate in peer review; recommend qualified reviewers or potential contributors; and support special issues or thematic initiatives. Board Members must maintain confidentiality, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, provide objective and constructive scholarly input, and uphold the journal’s editorial and ethical standards. They may also support the responsible dissemination of the journal’s research and encourage high-quality scholarly contributions from the research community.
